Reunion

My beautiful grandmother passed away 10 1/2 years ago.  Ten years already sounds like a long time, but it seems even longer when put into the perspective of how much has happened in that decade.  I was in fifth grade and not quite eleven when she died.  In the last 10 1/2 years....

7 Grandchildren were added to the family,
3 Grandchildren served full-time missions,
10 More grandchildren were married, and
22 Great-Grandchildren were born.
There were 10 Annual Croxford Family Christmas parties,
10 trips to Bear Lake,
And many more get-togethers in between.

That's only a small sample of the life events that we have celebrated in our family in the last decade. That is a lot of life to live without your eternal companion by your side.

Today, after ten-and-a-half long years apart, my grandfather was finally reunited with the love of his life.

It is always sad to lose someone you love, but today I am also filled with joy that they are finally having their reunion in Heaven.  His heart broke when she died, and I imagine that today, it's finally full again.

See you later, Grandpa.

Love,
Rachel

Anniversary

Last weekend we had our first anniversary. Can you believe we've been married for a whole year? I'm just glad I don't have to tell people the number of months anymore when they ask me how long we've been married.

We celebrated with an evening of pampering, including pedicures and a fancy dinner at Element's Restaurant.

Can you tell which feet are Tyson's? :)

Happy anniversary to my best friend and the love of my life!  Here's to a million more!

Rodent

Today started out as a pretty good day. I walked into my apartment an hour ago after successfully selling half of my textbooks back to the bookstore only to see a mouse quickly run and hide under my couch! I immediately called the maintenance office for our apartment complex, but of course they closed fifteen minutes before, (Seriously? Who closes at 4:30?) so now I'm on my own.  I thought about sweeping it out with a broom and catching it under a bucket, but then I wasn't sure what to do with it after that since you can't really pick it up with a piece of paper like you can a spider. I think I will wait until Tyson gets home and we will double-team it. In the meantime, I'm sitting here making sure the couch is within my vision at all times wracking my brain trying to figure out how it got in here. It's not like it can gnaw its way through cinder block unless it's some sort of mutant mouse with teeth of steel. We don't have any holes or large vents that I can think of, and we always have the screen shut when we open the back door. I can handle getting one mouse out of the apartment, but I'm paranoid that there will be more to follow and I'll end up having an Anne of Green Gables moment and finding one dead in my plum pudding!

I contemplated pulling the hunting rifles out of the trunk and exterminating the little guy, but I don't think that would go over too well with housing maintenance, or the police. Maybe I'll just set up one of these instead:

Wish me luck!

Upload

I have been a huge slacker lately when it comes to taking pictures, which means I've also been a slacker when it comes to uploading my pictures from my camera to my computer. Here are a few of my favorites from when the girls came to "have a sleepover" back on October.

I love my girls. They truly are the best of friends!

My Teachers Make Me Blog

I am currently taking a "Technology for Teachers" course. It's actually pretty cool, because I get to learn about cool new programs that I didn't know about before. And it's online and only one credit, so that's a bonus. This week we are learning about using blogs in school, so I am actually required to post something. Kind of sad when the only reason I blog is because I get 20 points for it. Maybe someday I will get around to posting something interesting.  In the meantime, here is our favorite YouTube video.

P.S. We moved! (Thanks a billion to Mom & Dad Field, Andy, and William for all their help!) If you want to send us mail and need our new address, send me a text or an email.
